Sola Wood Flowers are handmade wooden flowers that are natural, biodegradable, and sustainable.
Not only are these eco-friendly blooms a beautiful and affordable alternative to fresh cut flowers, but they are sturdier and can last much longer! They are also great for those who wish to get creative as these flowers can be color dyed.
Sola wood comes from a tapioca plant root called Cassava. This woody shrub can be dried down to a powder to create tapioca. Since Cassava is native to tropical climates, it is extremely drought resistant.
Typically, the bark is taken off of the root to expose the center of the plant. This cream-colored, cork-like center is made into thin sheets, which are then softened and individually shaped by hand to form the various flower type.
